This afternoon, I am feeling more validated than ever, and I wanted to share what just happened.
Remember Terry Moran? The former ABC News Senior Political News reporter — someone whose integrity and courage are beyond dispute — had his contract terminated after he spoke out about White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller’s influence. That same Terry Moran is now writing on Substack.
And in one of his first posts — and his very first repost of someone else’s work — he chose mine.
If you’ve found my work valuable — if you believe in building independent media that speaks truth to power — I hope you’ll consider becoming a subscriber. Your support isn’t just appreciated; it’s what makes this possible. Every share, every paid subscription, every word of encouragement fuels this mission and keeps it growing.

"This is GREAT reporting. Aaron Parnas catches DHS and Kristi Noem spreading falsehoods about the shocking treatment of California Sen. Alex Padilla in LA."

Let that sit for a second.
Because for me, it’s more than a compliment. It’s a turning point.
As a fledgling reporter trying to break into an industry that’s often gatekept, sanitized, and sanitized again — this kind of recognition hits hard. Mainstream outlets have long looked down on independent voices like mine. They’ve dismissed us, discredited us, and in some cases, tried to block us from access altogether.
And yet here we are.
Not just publishing. Not just reporting. But being seen — and now, amplified — by someone I’ve long admired for his bravery in the face of institutional pressure.
To have Terry Moran say this kind of work is “GREAT reporting” doesn’t just validate the hours spent digging, verifying, and double-sourcing the truth — it validates the very mission of this platform.
We are not going anywhere.
I don’t know what the future holds. Maybe one day I’ll get to speak with Terry directly. Maybe we’ll even collaborate. But even if that day never comes, this moment is enough to remind me why I started, why I continue, and why I’m never going back to waiting for permission to do journalism.
I feel more committed than ever to build something powerful here — and to do it with all of you alongside me.
Let’s keep going.
Aaron
